Ways to support Manatee Village Historical Park

Support from the community is crucial for Manatee Village Historical Park. There are many ways you can contribute. Every little bit that you commit goes a long way helping us preserve the past for future generations! Click the links below to find out how you can get involved.

Donate an Artifact

Manatee County is fortunate to have a rich history that is thoroughly documented. However, there are areas of history that the museum has few, if any, artifacts. The Second and Third Seminole Wars, War with Mexico, American Civil War, Spanish American War and World War One were fought and changed history as well as the lives of local residents in the 1840-1918 time frame. Currently, we have almost no artifacts from these wars. Nor do we have a collection of men’s clothing to complement our women’s collection. At all times we continue to seek donations of artifacts with a direct connection to the citizens of Manatee County.

We are honored that you would like to donate a piece of history to the museum collection. For your donation to be considered, you must email the museum curator. Please provide a photo, description, and a statement of how the item is connected to Manatee County or Florida history. Please email Dr. Jeffrey Brown at Jeffrey.Brown@ManateeClerk.com

Volunteer

Volunteers are absolutely necessary in providing the very best visitor experience in bringing the past to life. If you are interested in history, enjoy meeting new people, like to dress up or learn about artifacts, or just want to make a difference, we would love to meet you!

Volunteer positions include: Village Monitor and Greeter, Tour Guide, Special Events Crew, Cobweb Patrol/Dust Bunny Diva, Outreach, and On-call Clerical assistant.

We really appreciate the time that our volunteers give and throughout the year we will host events to honor our volunteers. This facilitates friendship among our volunteers and makes everyone feel connected with our mission and history.
